The way I look at it is fukk what everyone else thinks, do what you want to do. I don't give a fukk if you take an 8 second loop and all you do is throw one snare on that bytch. Ain't no rules to this music shyt. Everybody has all these dumb ass rules about keeping shyt "Hip Hop" and taking it back to the essence and all that stupid ass shyt, but everyone has there own technique, set of personal rules/standards, and philosophy.
And this is coming from a guy who doesn't even buy packs and shyt. I'm straight sampled based, and I'm chopping 4 second samples into 32 parts and shyt. I guarantee that it's few people out here chopping like me. I make it a point to make my samples unrecognizable. I'm layering snares and kicks, and incorporating samples from multiple songs and all that goofy ass "Real Hip Hop" shyt. But that's what I like to do, not because I'm following some rules of the game. I could never hate on the next man for how he makes his art. So to summarize, do what you do and don't worry about what anyone thinks is lame.
shyt kind of reminds me how all these cats be up in arms about the Fruity Loop generation. nikkas need to shut the fukk up and let people make beats as they see fit. I make all my shyt on hardware (I do use FL to sequence tho cause the Maschine is trash in that aspect) but I don't think I'm "realer" than someone using software. I can't stand pretentious ass producers. It's the same nikkas talking all that back to the essence shyt who be trash.
