Oakland
San Jose has notoriously racist police which is why real nikkas haven't fukked with their club scene since ambassadors got shut down because of the influx of nikkas it brought there
yep, ambassador (that shyt was ghetto as fukk...fun as hell tho) and a few events after concerts down there turned me off from SJ.
Oakland was trying to push a plan called Coliseum City, it was basically a plan to keep all the teams in the area and to do what you mentioned which was to redevelop the coliseum area, but it was going to cost millions so I think the idea flopped
here's a pic

oaklandlive-300x223.jpg
oakland fumbled a lot of shyt having to do with developments, part of it was the recession, but at the same time, folks had already been moving back into oakland and the recession made even more people move to the town. oakland shut down all that shyt in jack london and have blocked and/or politicized the hell outta all redevelopment plans, downtown didn't develop to the scale it was supposed to to support all the condos in jack london and uptown. they've blocked (or bogged down) quite a few development concepts for west oakland's army base and unused parts of the port. jack london could've easily placed a ballpark and/or basketball stadium there. philly has one of the goat sports entertainment areas, that xfinity live center in philly is the prototype of what should've been done in other cities with multiple teams playing in a deserted area

OP, hit up Durant Square :myman: (that place is sooooooooo Oakland 1988-2002)

From what I remember, the redevelopment agency in Oakland shut down from the recession, which basically killed the Coliseum City idea.

All y'all cats saying part ain't coming to San Jose is ill informed. My boy works for the construction company contracted with it and they are already close to finishing to warm springs with the next phase to San Jose starting in 2 years. Just accept it...as soon as the Giants end there hate the stadium next to HP Pavilion will go thru....it has the funding...its backed by too many dotcoms with the big dawg being Cisco. Its going to be the most technology advanced stadium in the world.

they just signed a 5 yr lease to stay in oakland..
with that said that still doesnt mean they aren't moving to san jose. that lew wolff is a real piece of sht. :pacspit: top 2 most hated owners in bay area history. maybe cohan was slightly more hated and a bigger piece of sht.

Bruh they trying to move the raiders to santa clara too like oakland didnt play a huge part into giving them the fanbase they have today smh imagine how lame games would be if the raiders played in a family friendly area.

It's amazing that a city that can't even have a mall has/had 3 professional sports teams. As a cat from Oakland I had to come to the realization that a city not civilized enough to have it's own mall probably doesn't deserve 3 pro sports teams. Hard to blame the Dubs and A's for wanting to bounce.

There aint no space to build a mall in any decent areas out here but i can see eastmont becoming a real mall again in the future.

It'll never happen. I know you remember what happened to Big K-Mart over there on high st. nikkas stole from that store till they went outta business. It's plenty of room at foothill square to build a mall. Ross was about to open a store in there but I heard they pulled out because it still hasn't been built a year later after they announced it. You can't have shyt in the town breh. The funny thing is you can have shyt in a city adjacent to Oakland and it'll be fine. They got the Nike store in San Leandro but if they had it in Oakland it would be on the news everyday due to armed robbery.

You know that old abandoned naval hospital in the hills? Right off of Keller, that should be used for something, not a mall but at least a plaza.
