Screenshots below. It’s Giving me a BF3 vibe, I don’t mind it at all. A dynamic weather system would be so dope. I hope there’s a map that starts out in the evening then as the day progresses it gets darker and the drizzle turns into a huge thunderstorm. Sights and scopes start fogging up, players start breathing heavier, hear the shells hitting puddles :wow:

Rumors from the Reddit thread. Not sure if already posted

• The next Battlefield is simply called BATTLEFIELD.
• It will be set in near future and is a sequel to BF4.
• The game will have drone and robot warfare elements but the game will be overall modern and more grounded to reality.
• The game will be about a conflict between US and Russia.
• You play as a special soldier and your specialist unit consists of soldiers from the other fallen superpowers that are not from USA/Russia.
• The game will have a Battle Royale.
• The game has a campaign and it might feature co-op experience instead of traditional singleplayer.
• Players will still be able to play as the 4 different types of soldiers, but instead of just having unique gadgets, players will also have different “abilities”, which are similar to Call of Duty perks.
• The robotic dog in the game which is like Boston Dynamics Mule can run really fast and potentially has a weapon on it. But it looks like it could be a new vehicle type instead of a gadget.
• Game will also feature 128 player all out military warfare. It will be scaled down to 64 player match on old gen consoles considering that majority of people still own the 8th gen consoles.
• The Reveal Trailer currently looks similar to that of BFV, which means it doesn't show any actual gameplay snippets and is mostly cinematic.
• Gameplay is just like traditional boots on the ground combat with some robots/drones to "assist" you, like they would in real life. No wall running, no laser, no crazy stuff.
• Besides explosions, buildings can be damaged by various forces of nature like Tornado, floods, earthquake etc. which seem to suggest dynamic weathers are in the game.
• Battlefield is a more accurate representation of 2030's military combat compared to Final Stand. So there will no hover tanks or Rail guns.
• BATTLEFIELD IS NOT SCI-FI. All weapons included in the game are those which are currently in development/prototype stage.

This is make or break for DICE, at this point. Crazy because they had all the momentum with BF1 then dropped the ball :snoop:

Question. The only BF I've played is V, and while it's okay, I'm not a fan of how slow everything is. It's also clunky compared to a Modern Warfare. I also hate the nightmare menu and interface. Were the other BF's menus as much of a nightmare and take 5 minutes to load? I play COD and pick a game, and I get going in a matter of a minute or less. BFV takes minutes, and navigating the menus is like a choose your own adventure book.

You’re on console right? Keep in mind the best way to experience battlefield is through pc. I played BFBC2, BF1, BF4, and BF3 on console before moving to PC. The load times are horrendous across the board. It’s just something to expect from a dice game on consoles. Although this should be fixed tremendously on these next gen consoles. in my opinion though BF3 menu was the best to navigate.

I was also mainly a COD player before BF became my favorite FPS franchise and the clunkyness was def the first thing I noticed. It was probably the worst on BFBC2, but they’ve improved it throughout the years. It sucks that BF5 was your introduction to the franchise though. Like @Los! said it’s a b*stard child, forget you even played it. If you’re looking for the adrenaline and immersion which is what pulled me to the franchise. Battlefield 1, is that to the T. It’s probably the most immersive game I’ve ever played. I still play it to this day. I own it on both PC and Xbox and the console version holds its own very well. Check it out. And each map has its own thing that brings out different forms of excitement. Ive had people ask me if I’m playing campaign during MP matches. Just peep this below, he’s playing with no HUD, so the capture points, spots and map is turned off, but it’s just as immersive and I’ll say it’s more fun with the HUD :blessed:

Thank you! One last question. As far as modern day environments, which BF is the go-to? I like WW1, and WW2, however, I'd like something with a modern touch as well? Any suggestions?

BF4. if you asked 20 battlefield players what their favorite BF game was I wouldn’t be surprised if BF4 topped that list. It’s a little slower than BF1 though, but team death match shrinks the size of the maps up so it does pick up

Bf4 or even 3 if u on pc:blessed: bf3 just had modding tools released so custom maps and game modes etc

bf4 is the last good battlefield game made and is the pinnacle of the series IMO.

Im lowkey disappointed we not getting 2143 after the Easter eggs and the Final Stand dlc from bf4 :francis:

also these fakkits at dice need to make legitimate rush maps:pacspit:

BF4 is the pinnacle Battlefield experience. When you have a squad that works in unison, the game transforms into something different. I have so many memories of running Stinger/Javelin teams, SOFLAMing, UCAV spam(lol), pulling up in a full LAV ready to take a point. :wow:

:wow: @Los!
or when you're so good you have to run two [COLI] squads to battle it out. Not even the chinese had a chance.
