I wonder how many wrestlers would’ve bounced by now if less dates and bigger pay WCW still existed
I would assume most of the roster. 95% of these guys are in purgatory, just trading wins in matches with no buildup and drifting aimlessly while management has no plans for anyone beyond a week or two ahead. I’m sure a lot of these wrestlers are bored as shyt or miserable at the job. It’s clear as day that hard work doesn’t pay off there, that being good at your job doesn’t actually do you any good. If anything, guys seem to get punished for it while guys who aren’t good at theirs get rewarded if management likes them. Sounds a lot more like the work environment in a fast food joint than anything.

Njpw does the same thing though with Okada and Omega.
Aren’t they at least over though?

Before that It was either Cena or Randy

Before them it was Triple H's reign of terror... Raw was always the stomping ground for Vinny Mac's boys to devour talent

You know your show is ass cheeks when the evolution reign of terror is by a wide margin the high point of the post invasion angle era.

There's probably some in the locker room who talk cash shyt about all the company's "chosen ones." Even if they like these people, it has to be frustrating knowing that there's a ceiling on what you can do basically from jump all because the boss decides he doesn't see it for you.

The WWE likes the present itself as a meritocracy. However, as I'm sure most of us are aware, true meritocracies are rare and based on what we know, the WWE ain't one of them.

That said, I also think a lot of them make their peace with it. You're still getting to travel the world, doing something you love surrounded by good friends. It's a better gig than most can ask for, in some respects.

I'll say this much: the shoot interviews that come out about this era are going to be interesting.

Unfortunately, it won't. Today's generation of stars dreamt of being in the WWE, and Vince & em, all know it. This is why you see these dudes goofing off and not taking their gimmicks or themselves seriously. Most of today's shoots are people who don't really want to say anything negative because they hope to get re-signed. Sean Oliver (Kayfabe Commentaries) said that he doesn't really want to interview anyone from the past couple of years because they all think that deep down they have a chance to go back to WWE. shyt, Enzo would be a guy that many would expect to say some reckless shyt in a shoot, and he's been pretty tame on WWE. Cass/Neville are really the only guys left who could say something.

Neville because he got fukked for money and creative. Cass because he [stupidly] tried to get himself over and grab this imaginary brass ring that his owner rambles on about.

They have these people come to work "just in case." Like, just in case we decide we need you, make sure you're at Raw.

I felt so bad for Titus having to come to Raw on Christmas just to be in a 3 min segment. Felt even worse for all the cats who didn't even work that night but instead sat in catering when they would probably have rather been with their families.

Morale gotta be in the toilet.

At this point, what’s the incentive to give any effort? Pushes happen solely on if Stephanie can promote herself by pushing you or if Vince has a hard-on for your look. Your job otherwise is to just be a solid hand and lose to who Vince or Stephanie like. If good performance doesn’t lead anywhere, what’s the incentive to try? Pay can’t be that good, and it’s not like these guys get benefits, not to mention living on the road.

And yet this reign still sucks lol
Every title reign sucks for this company. They’d find a way to make the late 90’s roster boring. Austin, Rock, Angle, and Jericho would all fail to get over in the first place in this climate.
