hes been so average for the Jets, Ravens system made a big difference

between him, Pace and David Harris the Jets have some the slowest LB's in the league. Harris was never a burner to begin with but the other 2 are rough

So he used the "do you know who I am?" card then.

The fact that he doesn't care what fans said, even if it was true, lets me know where he stands from here on out.

It sucks for this week but I'm gonna use the Jets in Survival Football. After this week, them winning and losing will be as irrelevant to me as it is to him.

He should've stayed in the Impact Zone. Him and Brandon Jacobs probably could've teamed up and got a tag title run. Instead they out here looking :flabbynsick: on the gridiron.

Jets linebacker Bart Scott admits 'being defensive' and backtracks from critical comments about heckling fans | New York Daily News

One day after Bart Scott criticized heckling fans in a Daily News report, the Jets linebacker backpedaled after he had a conversation with Rex Ryan.

“I have a tremendous amount of respect for fans and what they do and the sacrifices that they make,” Scott said on Thursday. “And I’m aware of that.”

Scott said that he hadn’t watched the video that went viral of fans verbally abusing players as they walked into the halftime lockerroom of the Jets’ embarrassing loss to the Patriots on Thanksgiving night.

“Of course, I’m going to protect my team and protect my organization, but I understand they pay good money,” Scott said. “It’s freedom of speech. You can say what you want as long as nobody gets physical or puts their hands on you. I understand. We should also understand that within those stands there’s family members, there’s wives, there’s kids. … But I guess that’s what we sign up for. We’re public figures and we open ourselves up to criticism. That comes with the territory. That’s fine.”

Scott also told the News on Wednesday that some of the fans were “entitled,” but then backed off that stance a day later.

“You have freedom of speech,” Scott said. “You can’t censor what people say or what people believe. So you can’t fight battles with everybody. I know the fans support this team. We’re out there trying. At the end of the day, we’re embarrassed too. When we lose a game like that on national TV. We didn’t put 40 hours of work coming in here, practicing, going thru gameplans, to go out there and embarrass ourselves and let our teammates down and our coaching staff down and let our city down.”

Scott also seemed to back off his comments to the News that the heckling fans probably were the last people picked in dodgeball throughout high school.

“That’s a generalization,” Scott said. “I’m sure there’s some great athletes out there. I’m sure there’s some great people that could have played . That was a generalization… me being defensive, protecting my teammates and the things that they have to deal with. I couldn’t care less. I’ve heard it all. I just felt bad for my teammates.”

Scott defended his character by pointing out several charitable endeavors that he’s involved with.

“You can’t judge somebody by the three hours that you see in shoulder pads and helmet,” Scott said. “People can think of me what I am, but my charity and my work within all the communities I’ve been a part of speaks for itself.”

“They’re entitled to it,” Scott added about the heckling. “We all came into the season with expectations. But I think the real true character of a man is when things aren’t going well. Anybody can sit up here and answer questions and do things when it’s easy, when it’s convenient. But when times get tough, that’s when a real man steps up and shows his true character.”
