I still don't understand this show.

It started with the Ninja Animal Daughter, which is one of the highest rated episodes. That sort of surrealism plays real well with the internet core audience. It's one thing for something to be implausible, but it's another when they just break from reality.

And I'd dig it, if they established that early on, but they didn't.

But last season was not foreshadowed at all. Unlike a Tony Soprano/Walter White - it wasn't a slow descent into being unhinged, or a change in perspective to see what Barry is truly like - it was just a straight up change in character, imo.

I'm still gonna watch, it's good TV. But the way this show changed is still weird.

IGN just dropped a review for episodes 1 through 7. They didn't screen the finale. This review reads like a 10. I saw the 9 and was like :jbhmm: It's got to be because they didn't see the finale.
Five days till Barry spins the Block and makes them prison bodies drop. :banderas:

Barry has always been pretty fukked up to me.

In season 1, he kills his friend and his mentor’s girl to cover his ass.

In season 2, he tries to stop killing and train soldiers instead. Eventually he goes on a mass murder.

He’s just unhinged as hell.

Season 3 pacing was kind of rushed though and jarring at times.

He's been messed up, but the tone of the show made him sympathetic. Much like folks root for Walter White at the beginning despite how what he's doing.

To me, they yank away the sympathy with that yelling scene.

Meanwhile Bald Head dude, Fonzie, Handler Guy and the GF are still playing consistent (but growing) characters.

The show wants to be 2 diff shows imo.

Goofy Hitman that keeps getting into hijinks, but also Twin Peaks.
