All he was saying was fighters were treated unfairly back in the day and now they are treated fairer, that's it. I don't know Barry to vouch for him or not but there's very little in this particular comment. He was saying promoters as a whole were on some fukked up shyt contractually and told the fighters what to do, and now there's been a change where the fighters have a lot more power and leverage, which he says is a good thing.
But he uused a damn wrong foul context!!
Yeah, the analogy probably wasn't even necessary, he could have just said it in straight up terms of fighters were treated more unfairly back in the day compared to now, but I genuinely don't think he meant any racial connotations to it, for 1 I don't believe he's that stupid at all, to say it infront of Whyte and Rivas, he'd have to be insanely stupid to do that which I don't believe he is, Whyte would have said something if he felt it was meant like that. I'm the first 1 to call out any racism but also like to objectively judge things on a case by case basis and not create things that aren't there. I can see why some may not like it, but at the end of the day he was saying the truth, fighters were fukked over back in the day much more than now, he said he's glad they aren't so...
Again I wouldn't vouch for Barry Hearn at all, I don't know his views about these kind of matters outside of boxing, so I can't speak for or against him in that regard really, but for these isolated comments I don't think the intent was there, it was probably just unnecessary for him to put himself in that position. Nearly all those motherfukkers were crooked and robbing motherfukkers back in the day, a lot still do now. Am glad the fighters are in a better position now.

Exactly, there were a bunch of other ways he could have said that shyt. Plus when you add in that sarcastic mocking tone, shyt just sounds worse.
Fury is right. Eddie need to give him a 4 pk and push him back into the closet or some shyt, cuz dude making his whole operation look bad. Has an apology even been issued.
