Barry's last year his OBP was almost .500 so yeah...he was colluded against.
Was just watching that Ken burns baseball documentary..

Carlton fisk filed for free agency no one made an offer
Jack Morris off a career year filed for free agency no one made an offer

They both had to go back to their teams and play for a discount

That was in late eighties and early nineties respectfully.

Crazy

I hate that the strike cost Donnie maybe his last shot at a ring but the strike was needed

As a baseball purist, I have to say that what barry is going through is warranted.
the man was a great player but an even greater sociopath, his jealousy over Sammy and McGwire ruined his career

with that said it's good to see him in uniform again, maybe a tearful interview where he comes clean will get him a few steps closer to the HOF
but at this rate, he'll never get in.

It's all a damn shame because his pre steroid run warrants an induction on its own, but it was so obvious that something was up. He was the best player of his era. He didn't need to take anything. He probably still would have retired with depending on good health 500-550 homers I would guess since he wouldn't have been blackballed out of the game.

this is a good first step from him not being blackballed any more...big mac is a hitting coach for the dodgers (or he was) and that didn't help boost his votes
maybe it'll be different for barry :yeshrug:

but he cheated. Hank Aaron said in a TV interview that never aired once that it was IMPOSSIBLE for anybody to hit 70 homeruns. IMPOSSIBLE. he repeated that a few years later though:
Hank Aaron says steroid cheats in Hall of Fame should get an asterisk

Two GOAT's in the same picture :wow:

Those two cats are responsible for three of the top five :ooh::blessed: level moments I've seen in baseball. Barry got 2 spots for that home run against Gagne and the home run against Troy Percival

On the Yankees light hitting Wade Boggs would routinely crush home runs more than any other teammate in BP.
.
they said the same dumb shyt about ichiro during bp. the guy can crank em out whenever he pleases but chooses to slap hit singles, dumbest talking point ever

So this sort of thing is to be taken with a grain of salt.

It IS impressive however that Bonds could still do it at 48 or whatever he is.

When Wade Boggs was on the Yankees they kinda sucked, so you gotta put the salt back.

You completely misunderstand the point.
It isn't to say that Ichiro and Boggs could hit 60 HR in a season.

It's to highlight just how silly something like BP and Home Run Derbies are.

They don't prove anything.
That's the point.
