I will never watch this but I gotta salute my mans Ryan Gosling. I was a huge fan during the Young Hercules days and it's cool that dude is still out here making moves.

:russ:

That’s taking it back. I remember him on 2 episodes of a show called Flash Forward on the Disney Channel in 1997.

Petty Vandross.. fukk Yall
Let me start off by saying I’m happy people finally got their Barbie movie
This is probably one of the three times(maybe four) that I’ve seen Margot actually act :pachaha:
Ryan still that dude
Okay now for the real
This movie was very fukking mid:russ:
White feminism is pure bullshyt
I understand women’s suffrage
I understand women’s struggles in this fukked up world
I am conscious of how they sell products to women without thinking about all the nuances that come with being a woman
I can understand there are really shytty men in this world
I also understand that men have depicted and written women poorly in all forms of entertainment
But this shyt was:dead:

That America Ferrera speech can be used by both sexes:childplease:
It’s plenty of men that wake up feeling the same way
Not good enough
Not seen
Using Alan as the average man with no power=Women was funny but emasculating at the same time
Which brings me to Ken himself
That was some terrible writing for his character and men
And shows the dichotomy and hypocrisy that has always been prevalent in our society
Okay you want men to be men
But you don’t want a man to be too manly
Every man in this society somehow benefits from patriarchy when marginalized men of color haven’t once benefited
Especially black men
We have always been seen as the boogie man that’s here to destroy and rape white women
The burdens we carry on our shoulders every gotdamn day is immeasurable
That’s why I laugh at black women who bought into this bullshyt
Non black women I really don’t give a fukk about because most want to be honorary whites
But I would be remiss not to mention that my ex wife is Filipino and she gets it
She’s one of maybe 10 women my whole life that gets it
White women still benefit from the ills of patriarchy
They vote in alignment to keep the patriarchy alive
That Dave Chapelle joke and

Are never not in my mind
And to deduce Ken only down to being Barbies pretend boyfriend/stalker as some sort of revelation that needs to “find” himself but he was finding himself in his masculinity
Not all masculinity is fukking toxic
Men shouldn’t have to be depicted as inept to prove a point
The father couldn’t speak English or Spanish well for that matter
The executives were your standard issue idiots
But Ruth the Barbie Oracle had no culpability in how women see themselves
Nah let’s wrap a bow around that bullshyt as her being a gotdamn pioneer :skip:

Man this movie couldve really been about the human experience and how men/women have overcame obstacles to be present for both genders
How men/women are not that much different in how they see themselves in this society
Instead we get this bullshyt:childplease:
And save that “it was to be a fun movie”
Once you bring shytty political writing into the movie
I’m going to call you on that shyt
Kendom=Maga/Storm the capital bullshyt
Really
All men of every color participated in that fukkery
Really
So no white women where running around showing naked ass or got blown away:childplease:
All men want to fight in war
Really
All men solve problems with violence
Really
Yeah fukk this movie the more I simmer in this
I don’t mind strong women in movies or in my life but I’m getting pretty tired of being talked down too
Sure women have felt like this for years
And they getting get back
But let’s not sit here and act like every fukking man on earth is a Brut dummy
That doesn’t love their wives, daughters, friends immensely or don’t have extensional crises everyday trying to provide for not only ourselves but the women in our life as well
fukk this movie
fukk this movie:pacspit:
You damn right I wrote all them paragraphs so you nikkas can’t @ me no dumb ass, well actually ass posts:pachaha:
fukk this movie
Margot still fine as fukk and I’m glad they pointed that shyt out for not being the messenger to say all this shyt:dead:

You mean "go woke, go broke" was never real??? Gasp.

Now they're saying it's ok for Barbie to be woke because it was already a franchise for women.

It's only bad when franchises like Star Wars, Star Trek, Marvel and DC go woke because they're inserting their politics into the stories.

Because it's not like any of those properties had themes of standing up for the little guy, being different from everyone and coming to terms with your identity, fighting against fascist and totalitarian regimes, or living in an egalitarian society free from capitalism. :troll:

I can see this point of view. Perhaps I'm cynical ( and so is Greta), but I would argue many people do not understand, and so they needed this message delivered this way.
