Took me 12-13 years of 'dating' to marry my wife



I don't play with that marriage shyt i made sure we went thru bad times and made sure this chick knew what BEING AROUND DURING GOOD AND BAD TIMES MEANT


Y'all keep playing around with this 2-3 year shyt we all know the 1st couple of years are all gravy....nothing but sex and trips, then y'all get married thinking shyt is sweet but you haven't really seen this lady for who she really is

3-5yrs though I've seen couples know that they were getting married in 1-2 but they were older and I guess had a better understanding of what they were looking for.

There's no telling how long.....what's the right time for some, isn't exactly the best for others, also some may be ready but just afraid to take the leap..... I mean with all the horror stories out there who wouldn't....

I'm taking my leap tomorrow, and we're just going on two years....

Known people dated 5 years then got married
Got divorce 2 years in equals 7 years gone
Knew someone 1 month dated got married still married 40 plus years

There is no right or wrong answer imo
I say live together before marry and u can do that anytime u want

It all comes down to personal preference to each individual
Some it works date very short then married quickly
Some it works wait long time then marry

I just know when I overthink things I wind up doing absolutely nothing.

Go from trying to get a date
To seeing if you will be compatible
To making it official
Living as a couple (not necessarily moving in)
Then marriage...

Don't think too far ahead otherwise you'll marry the first woman you think you're "compatible" with.

Thats some good advice. Enjoy dating & journey that leads to marriage, asking a girl for her number, for a date, first kiss with her, sex etc.


However you might run through many wrong women till you find "the one".

There is no time frame. When you find what you like and don't want anybody else to have, then you will put a ring on it.

I got a ring 6 months after dating and got married the following year.
