Good prediction. I noticed a lot of my friends discovered it on HBO Max last month and I think that's great. This movie deserves some props. This looks like it could be the next great horror movie

Bro I was there when I was a little kid so there were still some white folks around, we used to play in front of burned down houses like it was normal. This is back when Devil's night was still a thing. I look back at that shyt like wtf and glad as hell my folks moved closer downtown. That neighborhood was way too f*cked up to stay in
Why you so inconsiderate?why people still doing spoilers?
not really inconsiderate, it's not in theaters anymoreWhy you so inconsiderate?
I had no clue about this movie and walked into it blind. The problem with this movie is it got hyped too much. Horror movies that get hyped tend to end up mid. Having said that, this is a good one time watch. Typical horror, characters making dumb decision after dumb decision, dark corridors, creepy mystery etc.
I think the end was very lazy and wtf but horror fans and casual horror fans will dig this for what it is. People expecting a revolutionary horror movie need to leave those expectations in their own dungeon before entering this one.
6/10
Definitely overrated, but a good one hitter quitter.
exactly. I see it like if you didn't go see this while it was in theaters for a month you don't care about spoilers. This movie had a nationwide release in regular theaters not even the arthouse type of places. People was talking like it premiered the week of streaming.not really inconsiderate, it's not in theaters anymore
the general rule around these parts is like 2-3 weeks after release to have spoilers...after that it's fair game, especially by the time it hits streaming
if you reading the thread before seein the movie...and the movie been out...that's on you.
now if you in the BP 2 thread without spoiler tags that's different.
the horror genre doesn't exist without a suspension of disbelief. Also part of what makes the horror genre is people making dumb decisions.
People make dumb decisions in real life too. Everybody don't have common sense.Good horror movies are grounded in realistic choices. I do like that this movie attempted to answer the “why wouldn’t she just leave?” question in the beginning. Keith acknowledged that he could come off as a killer/rapist. Tess was still googling hotels and had the before finally trusting him.
But Keith INSISTING that she stay and her obliging was where they lost me.
