this movie fell apart after the tone change. brehs was really hyping this like it was the tense dark horror, that's the expectation i went in with, and it was delivering until it cut to a chad ass white boy driving diwn pacific coast highway, then it was just pure fukkery. i'm all for fukkery horror, but i need that to be the lead. i was thinking this would hit that tone of conjuring/insidious or be some high brow horror like the witch or hereditary, instead i got duped and im mad about it

i just dont see how this is the most hyped horror of the year, guess i need to lower my expectations for checking out smile and prey for the devil

and I see where you coming from w/ the tone change...but I personally appreciate the curveball...it's like malignant...to me, both trailers famed the films in more tense horror...but both turned out to be fukkery over a hundred million....Malignant dived right into it on the offset, granted...but the way barbarian did it, I respect it. Trailers ain't spoil shyt in that case.

I relate scary to horror. Not that I was scared. first chapter had me on edge and the sound….. overall perfect horror is what I meant as far as plot/story line.

Unless someone’s home theater is that damn good, you won’t be getting the full scope of the claustrophobia in some of the scenes here. That was what ultimately made the film standout for me when I watched it in Dolby, along with the score.
