Baltimore didnt have a large black population before the great migration. Thats why most of us have grandparents, great grand.. etc from the south, mostly North Carolina. Southern maryland and the Eastern shore has always had a high black population.

It's almost southern.
They should have a more northern accent and even style.

I wouldn't classify it as southern. There's no where in the south that sounds like us. For instance, I think people from DC sound like Richmond or Hampton Roads. slightly less southern version.
