Lonzo Ball on why the Lakers should draft: “They need a leader. They need a point guard.”
11:01 AM - 7 Jun 2017
Mike Trudell on Lonzo Ball workout:
On fit + star power: Can't just take a guy who's the biggest star and plug him into any team. Lonzo can actually play and has 'star-power' and is considered to be the perfect fit to what the Lakers currently have in place.
Feed back on workout: Media not allowed to view workout. Players and Coaches were present during his workout.
Regarding Lavar: Kept it simple, didn't have any impact at UCLA, won't have an impact with the Lakers. Magic and Pelinka told Lonzo they love Lavar.
What was discussed during last night's dinner: Magic and Pelinka discussed on what type of leader they want him to be, and complimented his game.
Lonzo has a more reserve and cool personality. Won't stand out in a group setting in terms of presence. His game backs it up and speaks for itself. Considers him having a 'loud' game. Not a showboat, goes about his business. Compares his demeanor to a Kevin Durant, quiet confidence.
Lonzo says he will be "fine" defensively... "can guard 1 through 3"...

Lonzo Ball on LA core: "They’re young, I’m young. I see they like to run. I love to run, so I think we can complement each other very well."
Lonzo on the Lakers: "They have a lot of good players. I just think they need a leader at point guard. I feel I can bring that to the team."
Lonzo Ball: "I think a lot of it is just natural. I think you’re either born a leader or not."
Q: Were you born a leader?
Lonzo: "Yes sir."
