The Lakers felt that he had a questionable work ethic and was a negative in the locker room. Apparently he rubbed a lot of people the wrong way. Including the coaching staff and players.

Doughboy never endeared himself to anyone, including a lot of fans. His lack of effort was always an issue. With all his faults Randle is much more loved because you can see the effort and desire.
