Think if you trade Clarkson and stretch Deng's contract you could keep Randle and sign 2 Max guys.

But I got a feeling Dallas will sign him to a offer sheet on day 1 at midnight and the team will have to make a quick decision on what to do with him.
Rumors are that Dallas' #1 target is Cousins. I don't know their cap situation but I'm hoping they will be waiting until they hear a yay or nay from Cousins before they go after Randle (if we don't trade him). And Cousins will probably wait until Lebron's decision unless he resigns quickly with the Pelicans.

The Truth
I'm hoping Caruso is developing into a decent backup PG.
I think he will

He makes pretty good decisions, shoots well, defends pretty well (Shut down D.Fox), and finishes pretty well.

I like mostly everyone on that SL squad honestly.

Nah they'd still have to get rid of Randle. His cap hold is like 12 million. You have roughly 15 tied up in Ball and Ingram combined. If they stretch Deng that's still either a 7 or 9 million salary cap hit. Add in another 5 tied up in Kuzma, Hart, and Nance combined. That'd leave them a little under 60 million, then you add in the minimum salary cap hold for any unfilled roster slots and they'd have around 50-55 million in cap which wouldn't be enough for two maxes.

You're right. Looks like the only way that'll work is if they take some discounts and I don't see that happening.

If it comes down to it they can just dump Clarkson and then renounce Randle’s rights if two superstars decide they want to sign with us.

It’s definitely a gamble if they don’t move Randle by the deadline...I would hate to lose him for nothing but it would be worth it for two max guys.
