Russell showed late last year he was better playing at the 2 and focusing on scoring. You acting like Lakers couldn't still dump those salaries next offseason if it came to that. Why not wait until next offseason when Deng and Mozgov only have two years left and would be much easier to unload.

We all understand why the deal was done, we all disagree with doing it right now. Also this can hinder the development of Zubac as well. Only way this trade is good for the Lakers is if getting that extra first is what's needed to acquire PG now. Otherwise they should've waited until all star break or next offseason.
