Droid Gang
I couldn’t make it through the first few episodes
If you dig it still check out Cowboy Bebop. Bounty hunters but set in space and like Champloo is themed to hiphop, Bebop is themed to jazz. Same director/writer, and probably even better than Champloo. Got a dope variety of episodes paying homage to things like Blaxploitation films evenIve actually watched that on and off growing up. Never fully paid attention and finished it. I fell in love with that “Shiki No Uta” song. I still listen to it till this day.
I’m going to watch and finish it.
Must watch Anime:The one with Muhammad Ali or the prison one? They’re both flames, breh.
You got any recommendations?
None of that weirdo fantasy shyt neither. I was fukking with “Attack on Titan”, but they cry and bytch too much on that show. shyt turned out to be boo boo after a while.
im usually whatever on opinion threads, but this gotta be the laziest common take on baki by farThey did Ali Jr. incredibly dirty, and I found it disrespectful to use Ali's name in such a way. I stopped watching after that.
this i can agree withI enjoyed baki. Now baki hanma is just too ridiculous for my liking. It’s gotten dbz level goofy. And as others have said the portrayal of black characters is cringe.
I think it's a common take for a reason.im usually whatever on opinion threads, but this gotta be the laziest common take on baki by far
Ali is literally the only notable foreign fighter to get the kind of respect shown for their craft, humility, and dominance in a series where folks get destroyed routinely. Its Ali and that's it. Even Mike Tyson got shyt on (almost literally) - and no one brings that one up.
And Ali Jr? They gave him a better representation than that actual real world Ali Jr. They went out of their way to create a fictitious narrative that was objectively better than the real life crackhead version while still holding to the narrative fact that his son plainly just don't want to walk the path his father did. Even let him escape being completely mutilated like rest of the cast has lol...
Because that's not the only time you see Ali -and even with that *very real* depiction of Ali in his later years when suffering from his disease, there's no talking down to him ever. Ali got like two montages of being the GOAT when most just talk shyt and die in this series.... and they even broke their guard rails on political events to further validate his integrity as a man.I think it's a common take for a reason.
I'm not sure how you can watch that arc and see an older Ali depicted with drool on his face:
Or witness Ali Jr. get the shyt beat out of him and humiliated repeatedly, and leave with a positive impression.
Is there a new season out?
