Nah, I just think there is something to the continent of Africa. Arabs shyt on African Arabs from what I hear. Which is strange. But also remember N.Africa also was always used as ports in the Mediterranean. Cosmopolitan viewpoints from a traditional sense are logical from the sheer amount of trade/cultural exchange happening in those nations.
But why they connect with African-Americans so tough is still lost upon me...its the same for why Filipinos do too...I'm happy they do, but I don't quite understand why.

I agree that "Afro-" is a much better and more accurate term.
I think African works for those actually, directly from the continent.
And Afro- should be a prefix for all diaspora Africans.
Black works colloquially but means different things from USA to India to Australia, so it's insufficient as a catch-all.
So, IMO, African-Americans should really be Afro-Americans. And the more recent immigrants from the continent should be called African-Americans.
But that's just my opinion.
