The concept of Bad News is less impressive than the man who portrayed him. Loved that dude as a kid. He was the only brotha who didn't seem to be smiling for White audiences.

The turn against Bret Hart made me salute him, despite the fact that Bret was my dude.

:what: This is goofy. You claiming Austin was influenced by just because he got in ppl face? Then I guess we can add Piper, Roberts, Heel Razor, etc to that list. Austin and BNB were nothing alike in the ring. Outside of the bald head and black tights, I see nothing in common. Have you ever seen a David Schultz promo? Austin bit his style right down to the dialect. And Sandman with the guzzling beer.

Dude, I'm not saying that he ONLY stole from BNB, just that he stole a LOT from BNB.

The look, the demeanor, the "me against the world" lone wolf shyt. That's image shyt.

I didn't say they were alike in the ring.

And he may have gotten the chugging beer thing from Sandman, but that's the ONLY thing he got from Sandman, as Sandman couldn't wrestle his way out of a paper bag. He just hit people with that kendo stick and brawled while smoking a cigarette.

The thing that made BNB a revolutionary character, was the fact that he wasn't a heel or face. He was an anti-hero.

This was back when you were either a good guy or bad guy.

BNB chose neither.

He just whooped ass, beat up authority figures, and didn't give a shyt.

Don't see it. Its clear that Austin gimmick was based off both Sandman and Dr D David Schultz.
No the only thing remotely in common with Austin and the Sandman is they drunk beer and that didn't even become a regular part of Austin's character until 3 years in. They are basically nothing alike.

Oh ok. I see you basing this off his Wikipedia page. Carry on

Stone Cold would probably never admit how much he lifted from Bad News Brown to create his character. That was obviously Austin’s real self just amped up, but you’re nuts if you watch old BNB videos and don’t see that entire aesthetic that Stone Cold updated.
