I dont even think him producing hits is the problem. I think he jus needs to shed the old school mentality of hopping on other nikkas beats. And start to build a rapport with producers and develop a original sound he is comfortable with.

This aint the old days where you can become a superstar jus by deading other peoples beats (ala Drought 3)

We are in a new era.

"Lyricists" have to be properly tweaked from an image standpoint and presented and packaged in the right way to be welcomed from "bu bu but we want them BARS" crowd...they'll say it's ALL about the lyrics and the bars, but obviously that isn't the case...no real difference from how hood/gangsta rappers or lady's man rappers are packaged and presented...different specifics, but the same overall concept and process is somewhat the same....Los just beinig flat out nice isn't gonna get him anywhere...he's gonna have to find a way to become trendy to at least one specific corner of the hip hop populace, and as of now he has none of them...he's kinda in "rap image" no-mans-land, where the perception of him is kinda ambigious...he's nice and can spit, but runs with Puff and doesn't give off that pseudo-conscious "REAL HIP HOP SON :krs:" vibe enough to let those types know they're supposed to root for him...he's not making club bangers or pseduo-trap songs so the people that follow French Montana aren't checking for him...and so on and so forth

Basically, he needs a better, more easily defined gimmick....and after he finds that, some hit records (or just well put together SONGS that "could" be hits)...because "being nice" ain't enough...even for the folks that claim it's everything

This is really what it comes down to. Whenever I think of Los or somebody like Joel Ortiz I think about unoriginal production and remaking whatever the last hot song was.

Los would benefit so much from having one producer and putting out a quality project. It doesnt have to be Below The Heavens as long as its consistently fresh.

Check out his last couple of tapes. He's making actual songs and not just spitting over recycled beats. Dude is nice, and can blow if given some play. He had some radio play with that joint "Ashamed of them" (i think that's what it was called) with Diddy and Luda.

I feel you on that. Even tho his last two or three tapes have had originally produced music, the beats sounded like everything else in the mainstream.

He wants to be on the same level as Wayne and Wiz, but his "commercial" songs sound the same sonically, but they come off as dull and uninspired

you listen to his mixtape "becoming king?"

either all or most of it is original shyt. the 4 or 5 joints I fux w/ heavy on my "@ the moment rap" playlist certainly is. he got a mike will like joint, and a joint w/ puff & luda. both of those could easily be singles. dude really deserve a shot. he can spit, got silly flow and at the very least can make an effective r&b simp rap track.

Los got bars, I think everyone would admit that. I'd put him in the mixtape rapper category with Fab, Kiss, Lloyd Banks, etc. but overall, as far as making mainstream music goes, which is clearly the lane he's trying to go for, dude is just generic. He doesn't stand out. He's incapable of making a hit.

Cosign this…but I agree not enough ppl checkin for him
