Hopkins doesn't want it with the #GGGoodBoys. :sas1:

The classic ass whipping he took in the 12th round with Kovalev, would actually last the duration of the whole fight until the KO if he fights Golovkin. :sas2:

I am starting to think Kovalev was content to beat Hopkins in any fashion and didn't feel the need to "beat" him up. I think Kovalev has a lot of respect for Hopkins and wanted the accreditation that went with beating Hopkins, but also had respect for Hopkins not to try to embarrass him.
It was interesting to see how Kovalev put fire on Hopkins after he was taunting. There really was no reason he couldn't have done that at any point earlier in the fight.
It felt like he wasn't necessarily taking it easy on Hopkins - Hopkins is a legend and can still fight, he doesn't need pity - but that Kovalev rather was content on playing it safe and not go out of his way to dominate power punch wise.

Grantland has quietly become one of the most interesting places to get a good article about boxing.

hopkins can beat ggg, because ggg comes straight at you. ggg style feeds into hopkins strength.
smh same shyt people said about krusher...thing is, one thing GGG knows how to do better then Kovalev is cut the ring off...And GGG overrall boxing skills are underrated...B hop would get smashed... Better fights (Win able ) fights are Froch, JCCjr... ESPECIALLY Jr....

they said that about kovalev because they didnt what understand kovalev is. kovalev beat hopkins because he stayed rangy. thats not what i said thats what hopkins said. hopkins wanted kovalev to come straight in at him because he likes catching fighters coming in. ggg can cut off a ring has become the biggest catch phrase in boxing its disgusting. they said chavez was one of the best ever at cutting off a ring then he fought whitaker.

GGG is one of the best fighters at cutting off the ring. All it takes is watching him fight to see that. He has setup his style to be a come forward, offense first, cut off the ring fighter. No one can deny he's great at it. We also know that style has inherit flaws, which is why a lot of people want to see him fight a pure boxer (Ward) or fight a guy with tremendous power to trade shots.

GGG's style would be different than Kovalev's, hence why I said I don't think GGG would win all 12 rounds. GGG wouldn't stay on the outside like Kovalev did. He would always be coming forward and be far more aggressive with trying to land his power shots than Kovalev. Hopkins could stifle that at times. Depending on how GGG's power affected B Hop, would determine how much he could counter.
That style might make for closer rounds overall, but I also think GGG lands cleaner and harder shots because of it.

Kovalev was most likely pacing himself for the long haul rather than looking to carry Hopkins. The danger with punchers like him is they don't have any experience going the distance at world class level and can tire themselves out if they're not careful. He apparently made that mistake when he struggled with Boone in their first fight.

Hopkins might think GGG's lack of head movement might be easier to handle, but GGG won't take it easy on him like Kovalev. GGG will Apollo Creed him and have Naz :damn:.

B-Hop needs to just call out Maravilla, a big name that's more :flabbynsick: Than him and will definitely jump at a big money fight. Hop will just have to come all the way down to 160.

Hopkins should just fight an easy opponent and call it a day. Golovkin will beat him and could knock him out. And if anyone deserves an easy fight it's Bernard after all the challenges he's taken on over the years.
