Def Jam pushed him hard plus he was a breath of fresh air that was needed in Hip Hop at the time because folks were tired of Puff and his happy music.

Funny enough that DMX's first mainstream appearance was on a Bad Boy influenced album(Phenomenon by LL Cool J).

I love BG, and I'll take his overall catalog over X's...but BG doesn't have an album that touches It's Dark & Hell is Hot. I guess Guerrilla Warfare comes close, but it lacks the depth and range of X's debut, and it's obviously a group album.

I agree. I don't really enjoy Flesh of my Flesh all that much (couple bangers, way too much Swizz Beatz microwave trash).
