It doesn't work like that anymore. If you make outlandish comments that could be interpreted as threats, people can bring out lawyers. The comment about rape is probably what got her in trouble. Wishing rape on anyone is unacceptable and is not something to joke about. This lawsuit might not even go anywhere so it's hard to say if there will be any real punishment.
