Yes. We're approaching that 15-20 game mark. I've seen enough to know where this shyt is headed.
My win prediction was predicated on Zach looking like a top 10 scorer every night along with Ayo and Pat taking steps. I also thought that in a contract year Coby would actually perform better to get a bag.
I never was high on Billy Donovan, so my optimism on the team was based around the players improving and it showing. I have no faith in Billy Donovan to outcoach or steal any games at this point. I outlined the next 15 games, also factoring in what we've seen... the big 3 of Zach, DeMar and Vuc isn't clicking, the team is just utterly inconsistent.
They are playing Pat out of position and stunting his growth, and there is no time table on Lonzo's return. If they didn't drop the amount of close games that they have, and if they had a different coach I would have a better outlook, but nah. They look like a team that tried changing up the offense up at the very start, moving the ball more, getting other guys touches, making sure Vuc is getting post touches etc... now they're reverting back to how they looked last year after Lonzo went down. Just isolate, take turns and see what happens.
There's no reason to think this is a championship caliber roster. So why wait around? The Bulls can actually get some draft capital back before it's too late and just hit the reset button IMO. DeMar can probably fetch them a 1st rounder right now, Vuc is an expiring, but he has some value. Caruso can help a team, they have Portland's 1st if they make the Playoffs (Go BLAZERS!)
Zach got paid, but I guess we have to wait to see if he ever looks as lethal as he used to look prior to last season.
That leaves us moving forward with...
Zach
Pat
Ayo
Terry
Lonzo can get moved too at that point. Get a new coach, get picks and some young players back and just say fukk it. I would much rather watch a team with guys who play with effort and energy every night than this team that goes with the wind from game to game.
