Honestly, this is why I kind of wanted to get another big who could potentially start at the 4 coming into this season.

IMO, Pat's offensive game has to be unlocked in transition. We would have a better picture on how he fit in with the starting unit if Lonzo wasn't hurt because we know Lonzo looks for everyone and is intentional with pushing the ball.

Pat is better suited playing with the 2nd unit (guys like Coby, Terry, Caruso... hell even Green) now with Zo out because the way the offense is and the pace that DeMar and Vuc play at makes the team play slower. That's where I can see Pat being conflicted because the majority of his time on the floor is with guys who can score in the half court easily and are not pressed to fast break. (I saw this with Ayo last year also)

On the flip side, it's a damn shame Green isn't taller. Dude just has a knack for making a play and getting his feet dirty. It's a little jarring seeing Pat come out the game and his sub comes in and immediately makes a play or gets a stop.

7 shots in 17 minutes is pretty aggressive … I actually think that was one of his positives for last nights game on that end of the floor …. His defense being consistent is what really looked off ..albeit against Zion ..but the narratives around his game are already caked in ..especially to a fan base psychologically in desperate need of β€œhope” going into year 2 1/2 for him ..so until he somehow becomes a 20 ppg scorer as the 4th option ..the aggression questions will likely persist
This is true.

I don't think fans would be starting to turn up the heat on Pat, if his defense was great. That was an aspect of his game that got hyped during his rookie season where he showed flashes. He doesn't really have anything to hang his hat on right now. Offense, Defense or Rebounding...

@Left.A1

Same ting I was thinkin.. He hasn't been able to get it right wit them other guys, if PWill still aint progression and it's a mental ting.. Thats coaching to a large degree as well

As much as it's on PaW.. I've seen players at lower levels wit same issues but with right system. And coach they are able to break through that mental hurdle
I've been said Billy Donovan ain't coaching shyt

I expect them to look like they do tonight more than they did against NO. The offense a lot better with actions and motion. They're getting into things quicker.

Green while undersized, does more right now, and he just plays his game no matter who he's on the floor with.

Let's see how Pat looks off the bench. I don't think he's a lost cause yet. He showed some life tonight

Just got home, looking at stats, Pat with only 1 shot in 9 minutes:unimpressed:
disgusting that’s how he responds to Billy calling out his lack of aggression in the media & a benching (!)

someone just texted me and said he’s got the drive of Eddy Curry :dead:

He doesn't cut.

DeMar, Zach and Vuc need releases when they operate. If Pat just cut more with that lineup he would get more looks. He spots up and doesn't move. I was saying it last year, breh is the most athletic spot up shooter in the NBA.
