Defense and lack of in game adjustments is killing them. Billy needs to be better there. Also, people shouldn't act like Lonzo is expandable. For as good as Ayo has been, they're still missing the defense and playmaking from Lonzo. They can't keep relying iso ball to bail them out every time. Lonzo needs complete control over the offense when he gets back.
Yea it was fans even suggesting that lonzo was expendable. Takes games like this to realize that although ayo is still imo the steal of the draft but has a way to go before we can turn the keys over to him. He looked overwhelmed last night. We are missing his outlet passes his defense as a bigger defender and his outside shooting.

Donovan is a good coach but I'm doubting him as a motivator and in game adjustments looking bad. He showed a lack of the feel of the game last night.

I don't think He's a bad coach either but his conservative approach to these situations has cost them a few games. I hate to say it but I can see him getting completely out coached in the playoffs. Hopefully I'm wrong but we'll see.

Me too

We don't look prepared to compete alot. I don't see the half time adjustments.

I don't put it fully on the coach though. Last night was just as much about vucevic and derozan having poor games as it was the coach. Our stars have to show up during these big games.

WHEN DEMAR
IS DOING shyt WILT/MJ
NEVER DID EVEN IN
THIS INFLATED ERA
YOU GOTTA TAKE A BACK SEAT
TO HIM REGARDLESS OF
WHAT TYPE OF NIGHT HES HAVING.

HES THE NUMBER 1
ON THIS TEAM.

Wilt and Jordan never had a solid secondary scorer with the skill set of Lavine.

As far as Ayo....i was saying expendable EVENTUALLY....like 2 years down the road if Zo keeps having knee issues, we can movs on. Ayo has been a revelation but he still a rook and aint totally there yet.

I kinda fear playing Toronto in a series bc BD will get worked by Nurse

At this point Billy will get worked by a few coaches

But yea maybe in a few years ayo can take the wheel. But I think it's obvious we missing lonzo contributions

Memphis defense and physicality is what the playoffs will look like.

I've been mentioning it all season, DeMar has lived at the FT, even drawing tons of fouls from his jumpshot. Last night you saw how he gets when he doesn't get that call. Frustrated and T'd up. That's how we should expect the game to be called in May and June.

The Bulls have an advantage in that they have multiple guys who can create offense in isolation, which is necessary in the playoffs, the issue is the offense is completely relying on that every night.

Offensively, Billy Donovan ain't coaching shyt

I'd have to see how many minutes Ayo played with Thompson defending the PnR, because from what I was watching, Ja knew that Vuc was food and continued to take advantage of him in that action.

He had what? 25 in the 3rd quarter? That's mainly when Vuc was in the game. It's levels to what Ja was doing and how he was reading the play. In the 4th when the Bulls made that run, Thompson was in the game and Zach and Coby were able to hold their own because they had better help defense.

I do however think that Zo and Caruso get more benefit of the doubt calls than Ayo does because they are vets and their rep is known among the refs. Ayo is still a rook, so some of the plays where guards get cheap flop calls don't go his way, but last night wasn't an indictment on Ayo against Ja, it was more on how easily he got downhill because Vuc was caught in between every single time after that pick was set.

This Philly team brehs...

They already were a huge matchup problem for the Bulls with Embiid alone. Now with Harden, they are even stronger.

How do we beat them in a potential series?

With ball and Caruso back our wing defense will be much improved

We possibly have more depth with potentially at full strength us being able to send Caruso coby ayo, green or Patrick Williams and Tristan off our bench.

Harden has shown many years he comes up short in the playoffs. Derozan has only shown he comes up short vs lebron led Cleveland.

We have a legit low post option , and 3-4 quality iso scorers who can get a basket in a half court set something a lot of teams in the East can't produce

But ultimately I don't know what the hell we will even be in the playoffs. I support my team but right now we are soft and we don't step up in big games. Squad gotta change that perception 1st before I can believe in us at all.

Its doable

I think Zo and Caruso can neutralize Harden enough and TT can bang with Embiid and offer some resistance. The ream worry is Maxey and role players hitting 3s....thats our real Achilles

Embiid is gonna get his....just cant let other ppl beat you.

Is BD gonna ride with Vuc or have the stones to play TT a lot

Naw ya'll bugging. Billy coached circles around Kerr in that WCF in 2016....outcoached Pop the round before. I wouldn't be worried about Billy he knows what he's doing.

The Bulls don't have KD and Russ on their roster. Meaning he's actually going to have to coach and not rely on iso. Like I said before we'll see in playoffs.

Wish I had more confidence in tonight but I'm sorry we are a soft team. :francis: I hate even being the 1st one that had to admit that.

Miami fights every night. It's not about the talent. On paper we might have the most talent 1-10 in the East. But we don't come out ready for war. We don't fight. Being able to establish defensively helps but stars rising to the occasion and the coaching has to want these wins bad enough. Feels like sometimes Billy is too dam cool and the team mimics his attitude. We need to get tougher.
