Im bored and curious, How does one become either a Jets or Giants fan?

Whats the divide?


In Chicago the Northsiders and uppity types roll with the cubbies

look breh, everybody makes mistakes. Don't judge me man, I was young. I was hanging out with the wrong crowd. One thing led to another and before you know it, I'm watching Jets games with emotional attachment.

It's almost ruined my life

Not true...I'm first generation and my parents are Trini, they could give a flying fukk about any American sport. In fact they only cheer for the teams I cheer for cause they know I'm a big Yankees and Giants fan.

You just become a fan of the team you like. When I was younger both of the baseball teams were trash but the Mets had one in 86 so they had the juice. I just decided to become a Yankees fans. As for the Giants, yet again I don't know why maybe because I like the color blue but I repped for the Giants.

Upstate NY(above Westchester) I used to see mostly Giant fans but Im a Jets....Giants out here in CT where u dont have NE fans

Thats cause when I a real yougin just startin to watch football, I got a sports illustrated subscript and asked for a Giants season tape but got a Jets

My parents are immigrants so they were into sports really, except soccer and tennis. I starting watching during the 1990 season.

I'd say Mets/Yankees is more of a geographical divide because of being in separate boroughs.

If they was to ever play each other in the SB I would root for the Jets as they haven't a title in a minute, like they haven't won one in like 40 years

With that being said, the Jets seemed to have Long Island on lock when it comes to fans.

IDK about Giant fans though.

sheeiit, when I starte watching the Yankees in like 89 they were terrible & only had Don Mattingly. He made me a fan as a kid because of his D & swing mostly.

And I started watching the football Giants during the Dave Brown era...nuff said. I just liked Strahan, Armstead, Keith Hamilton, Phillippi Sparks on defense mostly. I liked Chris Calloway but they could never get him the ball.
