Like we’ve all been saying subscription numbers are stagnating around the board in all media. Seeing Microsoft execs untethering themselves to subscription growth pretty much confirms it.

It also seeems like they are still missing revenue targets by a huge amount so it will be interesting to see where it is by the end of the gen and how aggressive price increases are gonna be.

Between the lines: Game Pass subscriber growth exceeded Nadella's pay target for the popular all-you-can-play service in 2020 but fell short the following two years.

  • In 2022, the Nadella pay target called for 73% growth for Game Pass but it achieved growth of 28%.
  • Microsoft said in January of last year that Game Pass had 25 million subscribers.

Thread is not about nadellas paycheck, its about the business model
Can’t be too bad, if Phil getting 10million and the ability to buy activision.

Nadella enjoyed a ten percent pay rise, taking home $54.95 million. Other executives got the same treatment, making at least $10 million after all of their compensations, such as bonuses and stock benefits, are taken into account.

Exclusives don't matter.
Console sales don't matter.
Executive KPIs don't matter.

What's next?
Keep this energy when sony miss those console projections for fiscal year, yall care too much about ceo pockets
