Capitalism isnt about right and good but we'll see what happens here. Legally i dont think they will win.
Well i'm not too sure. i'm like 100% certain you can't just up sell things for a 1$, we'll see though i'm more suprised the bankruptcy trustee didn't say something about what happened in the first place.

What i'm not to sure on is how this works internatoinally. Meaning the workers might be able to sue in france, but not in America...:manny:

would one of you mutha fuka's in law school finish up so we can get some solid legal advice on these types of issues?

I agree it's fraud but are there any laws against it in the US is the real question. The courts worship the altar of capitalism , even going so far as to make companies people, so I doubt they'll side with the French. You make good points regardless, as you usually do.

FOr sure there are laws against this stuff in america, but like all american laws there are loopholes.

Considering the bankruptcy was in France though i'm not sure the american courts have any say in what happens there. I wouldn't think this would be a criminal thing more a civil suit.

Chances are it gets thrown out.

I think it will get thrown out as well unfortunately.

Your bankruptcy scenario is I know for a fact is "illegal" and the court would either reject your bankruptcy and or the creditors would be after you still.

I'm surprised it didn't gain traction in France because they have serious workers compensation laws in the event of things like this. I'm sure Bain just knew a way around it so it was "legal". I would also guess Bain has a history of working in France, as if I remember Romney was very fond of the French, lived there and still is fluent.
