Also three billboards probably isn’t winning best picture. The lack of best director nod is normally a sign that it ain’t happening. So in my mind, it comes down to get out and The Shape Of Water for best pic
If they give it to get out :dead:

Shape of Water gonna run the table. Gonna be a boring Oscars.

Daniel and Denzel :blessed:

Jordan x2 :blessed:

Mary J & Octavia :blessed:

Get Out :blessed:

What happened to James Franco's nom? :lupe:
Tiffany Haddish needs to learn how to read :martin: fukking up the announcements :beli::camby:
James not being nominated is his warning shot. Next time he screws up, it's over.
All of that went as expected. Props to Daniel for getting a best actor nod too. Octavia Spencer getting a nod was a pleasant surprise. Surprised Jessica Chastain didn’t get any love for Molly’s game....but Aaron did :wow:
I guess all those aaron sorkin haters now now whats up. I'm glad Octavia got hers. I'm glad DDL can retire now lol, his work is done.

complainers got all of their nominations... except Wonder Woman, a movie you can't make a case for in literally any category, so expect that to be the topic of conversation going forward.

If they give it to get out :dead:

Shape of Water gonna run the table. Gonna be a boring Oscars.

Get out could still get it for various reasons. It’s topical, it’s relevant, it’s got a lot of love in those circles and serves as a nice narrative for “first horror flick since silence of the lambs blah blah”

some points

- no wonder woman? that's not good
-i'm glad logan got recognized, it was a great film and shoot have been the ending of the fox x men franchise, I think this last movie will suck
-i love octavia spencers work, I love that she is getting recognized more. her taraji and viola need more work.
- the big sick - don't sleep brehs, kumail nanjiani will be a household name soon.
- james franco is lucky to have his career at this point. this shut out should be a warning to him. he needs to smarten up, or he'll be over.
- no chastain is surprising but I think she is due again soon, probably her within he next couple of projects
- margot robbie's rise is something else. we finally have a new talent class coming with her, sairose , jen lawrence and emma stone. Kristen stewart should be wondering why she's not in this group.
- jackie from roseanne and cj cregg are oscar nomiated brehs
- mary j is having a nice comeback, glad for here
- can nolan close it out?
- DDL is taking best actor, but timothee will back for sure. he needs timothee remember project selection matters though.
- three billboards would be a bland best picture, but not the worst thing. i think the academy might go with call me by your name because of social progress, but it has lost steam since tiff.

People saying he was hype and overrated, because some of his movies have not been box office fodder or completely interesting to the public. But the man keeps winning noms.

He’s only written a few movies. And this is the first one that I think isn’t a “hit”. A few good men, social network, moneyball, American president. I feel like they’re completely off on that one
