I thought that was a permanent change?

Nah. They've got the leeway. they can nominate up to 10. Just because let's say there aren't 10 movies in a year that they feel like should be nominated. You don't want them putting flicks in just to fill spots. Like Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close:beli:

You're being too nice to it. It was boring as fukk and terrible. But yeah the ability to put in 10 flicks but not be wedded to it limits the risk of something like that happening. My predictions for this year: spotlight, mad max, straight outta compton, room, brooklyn, the martian, the big short and carol

Also is Bridge of Spies THAT good...another one I haven't seen :francis:

It is breh. And yeah the big short might clean up and it should. Very dope flick. Still think spotlight has it. Mad max is also going to clean up tho. It might not get the top prize but it will get a ton of other awards and I think it might be a year where they give Miller best director even tho the film may not win best pic

Well I hope Miller wins...but they may give it to Ridley.

Yea, its looking like Spotlight vs. The Big Short.

A couple of months ago I would have thought the Revenant would be the front runner..

you know it sucks that Creed as a MOVIE isn't getting any love. I really love Straight Outta Compton, but I feel like because it's a Hip Hop movie it's going to get snubbed. Creed's subject matter, story, and execution really seem Tailer made for awards love but only Stallone is making any noise for a possible Best Supporting Nom.

Seems like Idris is getting some late push for Beasts Of No Nation, I thought that the fact that it was a Netflix movie was going to hurt his chances...

Leo is DEFINITELY getting that Oscar this year. I was pushing hard for Will Smith the Gawd but he's not getting as much awards love as I thought he'd get. So far only the Golden Globes Nom.

Baftas are more credible than Oscars when it comes to films they acknowledge. They usually award films that become classics, where as the Oscars miss the bus a lot of the time.

just glad Compton is getting a lot of love. my favorite shyt this award season is seeing F Gary Gray and the stars of the movie mingling within and getting love from the industry because being honest, knowing hollywood, it probably aint gonna last. but at the very least they get to have a great moment.

with Creed, ryan coogler is still young and a lot of people are feeling him as a film artist. thats a dude that did the impossible, unite wesley morris and armond white in agreement to the quality of his movie. you know his time is gonna come. with F Gary Gray, i doubt anyone predicted this moment.

i also wish tessa thompson was getting love.
