Not to mention the episode earlier in the season where the Avengers went into Doom's crib and Doom styled on ALL of 'em (Tony, Cap, Hulk, Hawkeye, Wasp etc) without even breaking a sweat.

No, it's official. Well, not so much cancelling as not renewing for a 3rd season. They're working on an Avengers show more episodic and similar to the movie.

Just watched the last episode. Pretty good way to go out.

Starts out with Iron Man wondering how history will remember the Avengers. Then, Galactus shows up to eat earth, and it takes the entire team, including the reserve members to beat him and his heralds. It ends with them winning and the entire world cheering on the Avengers, and Cap telling Iron Man that he has his answer.

Only thing I thought was a little lame was that Galactus didn't talk, and Silver Surfer didn't appear.

Still, good series, it's too bad the unresolved plot points will never be addressed (Surtur's plans, return of Nick Fury, etc.). Eff Marvel for cancelling this piff.

I hope the 2013 Avengers series will be as good, but I doubt it. Apparently Marvel thinks people are too stupid to keep track of continuing plot arcs, so it'll be entirely episodic with no ongoing story.
