They got rid of the dark skinned daughter on My Wife & Kids too

they also got rid of the original aunt harriet for her lighter replacement

I was a fan of the first Aunt Viv's too and didn't like when they replaced her. But she got to big for her britches like the saying goes. The show was named the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and from the start was based around Will and his adventures. So I don't know why she decided to change up and become difficult to work with.

I was like when I was watching Family Matters on BET and saw Gina Waters momma playing Harriett. They could have kept Harriett upstairs for those measly 9 episodes that she was in and again they pulled a Aunt Viv #2 and made her a background character who stripped the essence and soul out of the original Harriett Winslow had made just another whiny and bytching character.

I didn't pay attention to the second one at all. I don't think she has any iconic moments so it doesn't matter..I think Tyra Banks was very overrated on the show too.

I guess everybody gon ignore the fact its a tv show and none of them look like each other anyway...why be so caught up on the skintone no matter how it might have been originally,how many black tv shows really had it set up where all the kids look like they would typically come from the parents? Its always one where u like ...Thelma came from Florida and James?...don't get me started on the cosbys,if Claire wuznt Claire


And the old viv definitly had her moments and more of a spark....but she wuznt greatly missed imo...Carlton,Will,Phil were the only neccesary characters who were irreplaceable....Aunt Viv wuz Rachel on Family Matters status,she had great moments but the show wuznt gon be over without her...I just wanted her to come back and get her son at some point..the lady that played her crack me up on other shows not sure why she left.


And Family Matters wuz suppposed to be harriets show?that is fuked up,Aunt Viv got a lot of nerve hating Will when Harriet ain't tried to put a hit out on Urkel yet comin thru and snatchin her show away

Exactly...Harriet ain't shyt on Jaleel AT ALL and that nikka literally stole the show...all Harriet would say is that they got paid MAD bread for that show so she ain't care..lol..Aunt Viv was just mad bitter and jealous of Will...she couldnt understand who someone who was as inexperienced as Will can have his own show and she resented him for it...she talks like Will was the problem...but the whole cast loves Will...and noone liked her...

My maternal grandparents are both Redd Foxx light; all their kids, but two, are Martin Lawrence brown and one of my aunts is actually light skin and one another is darker brown

My maternal great-grandmother actually looked Asian in her later years (basically all my life) and my maternal great-grandfather was Wesley Snipes brown

My Mom, again, is Kobe Bryant brown, like myself and sister, but, my brother is as light as my maternal grandparents and great grand mother (my Dad is a bit darker brown than my sister and I)

The parents don't always decide a kid's color

My dad's side is all brown and darker brown skin
