Honestly, I've always wondered if our era may just be worse than the era before Civil Rights. Not to downplay what happened before that because their efforts gave us a better society in many respects but shyt just seems much more effective about today's racist system. It's like once they were forced to let us in the same establishments and forced to hire us and tolerate our presence they've been hell bent on the cultural, social, economic, political, and mental destruction of the whole community at large. At least before Civil Rights your enemy made themselves known, nowadays everything is in the mind and as anti-intellectual as this country is a lot of people are easy targets for psychological warfare.
