I heard earlier today that their was a 3rd person in that room with them and Sterling knew he was being recorded. shyt ain't gonna fly.

Also, you either gotta be real dumb or real arrogant to think you can say the stuff he said, knowing you are being recorded, and not think that it could eventually leak.

you know, I don't think he's either dumb nor arrogant....I think he really just thinks there is nothing wrong with the way he thinks...like that shyt is perfectly fine...and that shyt is scary....

This could wind up being a pretty short ban. :merchant:

Disgraced racist Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling is battling cancer — surprising those around him by beating the final buzzer for as long as he has, sources told The Post on Thursday.

“They thought he would die two years ago,” one source said of Sterling, who on Tuesday was banned for life from the NBA for his now-infamous recorded racist rant.

“People have been predicting his imminent demise. I’m sure he has the best . . . drugs money can buy,” said the source, who works closely with pro sports teams. “He can do anything to keep himself alive.”

The source said some of the medication Sterling has been taking is responsible for the puffy appearance of his face.
In an ironic twist, Sterling refused to pay for prostate-cancer surgery a decade ago for then-Clippers assistant coach Kim Hughes.

“I contacted the Clippers about medical coverage and they said the surgery wouldn’t be covered,” Hughes told The Journal Times of Racine, Wis., in 2011.
“They said if they did it for one person, they’d have to do it for everybody else.”

Four Clippers players chipped in to cover the $70,000 cost.
Meanwhile, Sterling has been phoning friends for support, sources said.

I'd rather him not, because it would be forced. If he was brazen enough to allow that to be recorded, then we already know how he feels. Don't give him the cover of an 'apology.' Let him fall in the flames of infamy as the stupid bigot he is.

basically....I give him props for sticking to his guns....other than that: fukk that vile piece of shyt...

Guess this wasn't the first time Sterling was caught on tape :whoo:

NBA tried to oust Donald Sterling in 1982 over recorded comments

This isn’t the first time the NBA has moved to oust Donald Sterling as Clippers owner.

A special committee of six NBA owners unanimously recommended Sterling’s removal in September 1982. Created after Sterling’s aborted attempt to relocate the franchise from San Diego to Los Angeles, the committee grew concerned about late payments by the Clippers to players, hotels, program printers and others. The NBA had previously sued Sterling to block that move.

But much of the controversy revolved around an audiotape.

Yes, 32 years before another recording led NBA Commissioner Adam Silver to ban Sterling for life and take steps to force the team’s sale, the owner’s words created trouble.

According to stories in The Times detailing the matter, the special committee focused on comments Sterling made to a luncheon earlier that year insisting the Clippers needed to finish last so they could draft a player like Ralph Sampson.

Sterling said at the time that the remarks were misunderstood. The NBA, however, fined him $10,000 and, when the committee met, it listened to recordings of the luncheon.

An NBA source went so far as to tell The Times: “He’s as good as gone.”

“The owners seem shocked,” Times reporter Randy Harvey wrote in September 1982, “he did not turn out to be the real thing. Perhaps they will scratch the surface the next time they need a new owner.”

The next step was for the league’s advisory and finance committee to consider terminating Sterling’s ownership. That’s the same committee meeting Thursday to discuss the same issue.

But eight days after the committee’s vote in 1982 Sterling announced his desire to sell the team. That bought time and the league's effort to remove Sterling eventually lost steam.

By February 1983, then-NBA president David Stern described the franchise as being operated in a “first-class” fashion and said the league didn’t expect to further pursue the investigation.

Three decades later, the effort to rid the NBA of Sterling resumed.

Sources said Sterling has also been telling friends that he doesn’t understand the public furor over his recorded comments tothen-girlfriend V. Stiviano, whom he scolded for publicly “associating with black people” and told not to bring any black friends to “my games.”

And insiders at ABC said Sterling was in negotiations to chat with Barbara Walters for a “20/20” interview.

Wow.:ooh:
