I'm not really in the camp of wanting to call Doc and his players c00ns. I definitely wish he had done things differently. I'm disappointed, sure. But dude is in such an unenviable position... All of this points to a much more pressing issue that no on has cared to address for decades. Our leadership collapsed. We have nothing. We don't have prominent leaders who would call and advise Doc, offer strategies and support. Integration into the mainstream kind of worked the way a lot of private charter schools work - you pull the high achievers out of their community, deepening the depressing and perilous conditions of the already underfunded public schools. The private school kids go on to prep school, college, and a corporate job, only to feel completely disconnected from the dominant culture as well as the culture they were once familiar with. nikkas embraced that mythical American individualism bullshyt, went for self, and the support systems eroded. Yeah, Doc comes off as weak, and the Clippers' protest looks tepid... But who has their back, man? We can't even get intelligent, informed, uncompromising blacks on the air fam. Step back from the situation and let it marinate: the media's go-to voices on this were Stephen A. Smith, Shaquille, Charles Barkley, and Jalen Rose. Those brothers are a lot of things - amusing, raw, personable - but they aren't fit for the sort of commentary needed. The issues we face in society are bigger than basketball and rap, but our spokespeople barely exist beyond basketball players and rappers. And I'm sorry, jive ass Iron Mike Dyson and the mad Dr. Of Afros aka Cornyay West don't have the integrity to lead or inspire nikkas. The demise of black intellectual leadership is what puts Doc, CP3, and all of us in these lose-lose situations. nikkas lack guidance and clarity. And the demise of that shyt was not accidental.

i wouldnt trust anybody who co-signs those dudes. They're in it for the recognitioni, as is Al Sharpton. Him and Jessie Jackson are who the MEDIA has appointed as the spokes people for the Black community. And of course, the average disconnected white person out there, believes they are.

To make is clear, there is no black leader of today. But there is no minority leader in general for any race.

Chauncey Billups:

"Theres no way I would have played in that game."

"It's bigger than Basketball"

"I wouldnt be here without my grandparents and parents. I'd I rather take a stand and my teammates be mad at me than not doing anything and face my parents or g'parents"

Chauncey Billups spoke that real shyt on SVP and Rusillo, he said he would've sat out because it's bigger than basketball. And they called him selfish and basically telling everybody to go to the game and don't boycott. Marcellus said he's not going to the game and Beadle and Kellerman practically called him an idiot for not going. ESPN is on that agenda shyt, are they broadcasting the game?

And in terms of people giving Doc Rivers credit, not saying that he's a complete sell out, but I always look at someone Black who decides to marry white women with :patrice:and I get it that some people don't focus on race, but some, if not most people do. They burned his house down because of this, how can he talk to his wife about this and have her actually give a shyt? She doesn't share his experiences or his family's experiences with prejudice and racism.

Reports are Clippers players didn't want to play but Doc said "We are playing". :sas1:He is comparing this to Jesse Owens in Nazi Germany.:snoop:

Of Course Donald Trump and Alex Jones Have Joined the Defenders of Donald Sterling - The Wire

" Stopping by Fox News on Monday, Trump declared that Sterling was "set up by a very, very bad girlfriend," as The Root reports. "Let's face it: That whole thing is — she's called the girlfriend from hell." And: "She was baiting him, and she's a terrible human being." And: "The way she led him along. He should know, if he were there, if he was with it, he would know after one or two of those questions that she was answering and asking that there's something going on here." It is a fundamental tenet of American law that if someone gets you to admit something embarrassing or horrible but doesn't explicitly tell you in advance that they will use that information against you, it is not you who is the bad person."

Meanwhile, over at Alex Jones' concrete-walled bunker two miles under the surface of the Nevada desert, the Sterling incident is explained quite easily: President Obama, Magic Johnson, and Al Sharpton are "ganging up" on the poor defenseless millionaire. In case it wasn't clear how the blog post was unfolding, I'll let this sentence provide some guidance. "Keep in mind Sterling is so far an alleged racist." He has not — I repeat, not — been convicted of racism in a court of law. "Should somebody lose money because of an alleged hurtful remark?" Jones asks,

Other minority groups don't have our history in this country. We had a Murderers Row of leaders and intellectuals... Until they were murdered in a row. We never recovered.

Also, trust that other groups have leaders, still - when the Irish, Italians, and Jews came to America - long after we were here, I might add - they were not regarded as acceptably white. They integrated and got their people in prominent positions. We haven't been as successful, because we can't just drop vowels off our names and pretend our relatives sailed on the Mayflower. We have to be more creative than that, more intense, more serious. We've been none of those things for decades.
