Depends who is reading it. I think I tried listening to that Donald Goines book in youtube a while back. It was just off. Should have had a black guy reading it.

There was another book I was listening to on YT that was read by a Black woman. Her voice was so calm and soothing. I could’ve listened to her read, all day.

I’m finna just go ahead and cancel my audible even tho I have 6 credits

I can’t justify it and I’m on the 1 credit every other month plan now

Maybe 1 good book a year that I can listen to

I just can’t get into them

Im a black man, I don’t want to hear a 50 year old cac narrate a Donald Goines book :why:
Spotify has books too so I got rid of audible :manny:

Maybe they're just not for you
Edoardo Ballerini is a God level narrator
:wow:

For your underdeveloped brain,I suggest you start with the Nameless series by Dean Koontz
Then listen to Andrew Mayne books
Then try Barry Eisler and Robert Dugoni

I listened to some non-fiction books and it was pretty decent to play in the background while doing other things. The Project Hail Mary audiobook was crazy good and shows what a really good audiobook should sound like.

Recently tried Audible and my biggest issue was realizing how much filler is in a book. I used to read a lot but only for information purposes. Now with YouTube, I can get so much information in a consolidated format. Trying to listen to an audio book now felt like a waste of time. So much of informative books is still backstory, storytelling and filler. Just give me the information.

Sidenlte: Prodigy's booked was dope listening to because he actually narratives it. I would suggest that audiobook.

I use Audible for self-help or information books. I still like physical copies of books. I dunno if I could do a novel audiobook.
