Audio books are straight garbage

I can’t justify it and I’m on the 1 credit every other month plan now


Maybe 1 good book a year that I can listen to

I just can’t get into them

Hearing a real book doesn't sound too appealing for me personally though. I like to read certain sentences like 5 times in a row and really digest them.

Even though you can rewind, I think hearing instead of reading is forfeiting the control of the pace and your own interpretation of the book's rhythms, which is consequential for your experience with the content

There are other things you're giving up on too with this medium

Not to say it's all bad, especially if you don't have time or are more oriented towards auditory senses

- Reading and listening at the same time if you can is dope
- I love audible but I got a decent sized library, no need for a credit a month past a certain point
- You can bookmark certain sections of the book but it would be perfect if you could loop it or create a playlist

I found I get more out of it when I don't hop around from title to title. I'll take at least a week, if not longer and listen to it over and over again, let it sink in. But I'm also not a fiction reader so it might be different for some who are.

I use Libby, they're Free on there with a Library card. shyt is clutch while driving. I would not really sit and listen otherwise.

I’m on the fence. I rotate from physicals to audio and audio is cool for a commute or relaxing at the park, but my retention is better with physical books
