Damn this is getting a hell of a lot of love, all deserved too. When people say Andre doesn't have a case to be in the GOAT discussion they clearly havent listened closely enough.

The title track is what made me a fan of Outkast. Oddly enough I've never paid for this album, always had bootlegs. I might need to change that this week.

they both outpeformed their debut.

this was worlds beyond their first album.

No rap group has ever progressed so much from their first to second

This was when Big Boi and Andre 3000 became the profilic duo that would change hip hop forever.

I was happy i was able to take in this moment and album as a 12 year old me back then....

Seriously though...every track on hwre is amazing.
"Growing Old" makes me tear up listening to it now..
:mjcry:
powerful track.

:wow:
dungeon family forever.

i dare someone to drop a better 'Kast track.....then Big Rube doing the intro :banderas:
I remember hearing Elevators on the radio when we got to the A for Freaknik :wow: Niqqa was so geek

Boy I remember when this dropped it took a while for people to warm up to it. I remember the first weekend after it dropped going to a house party talking about it and people thought it was a letdown but about 2 months later everyone was banging it. My favorite Kast album without a doubt. Growing Old just touches your soul man.

Fat titties turn to teardrops as fat ass turns to flab
Sores that was open wounds eventually turn to scab
Trees bright and green turn yellow brown
Autumn called 'em, see all them leaves must fall down, growing old

Time man..its a wonderful yet scary thing. Be sure to take advantage of it while you still can.

in due time, everlasting, roaches and rats, & spaghetti junction were all from the atliens sessions iirc. dont know if anything else has seen the light of day.

:whoo:

I can see why they left it off. It doesn't really flow with the album.

But, it's easily one of my favorite OutKast tracks.

That hook! When Cee-Lo comes in with the, "Struggle is just a part of my day, many obstacles have been placed in my way, I know the only reason that I make it through..."

OutKast arguably have two of the top 10 hip hop albums of all time.

Let that soak in a little!

We were witness to greatness.

I prefer Southernplaya over Aquemini
:yeshrug:

but any of those 3 albums are GOAT contenders tbh

Album still smokes anything being put out today. 20 years later and ATLiens still sounds fresher than anything despite innovations in production and technology. From 1995-2000 I'm convinced Big and Dre's souls transcended Earth and broke through into another dimension. They blacked the fukk out :wow:

We're gonna look back 50 years and hold Outkast in the highest regard among musicians -- even more than we do today. They created such an unique sonic atmosphere that hasn't been able to be duplicated by anyone since. That really goes for anyone who had a hand in those albums: Organized Noize, Mr. DJ, all of the session musicians who came in to record, Goodie Mob, and the rest of Dungeon Family.
