ok... i dont fugg with 680 like that, 92.9 is my spot.
man, when them cats had the show with nick, chris, and mike bell, and steak,, the shenanigans that went on that show used to have me crying... and when Mike Bell did those dead on impressions of holyfield and dusty rhodes.

at my cube i would listen to the morning show, when that go off listen to my mixes, and then the stews on the way home.

Yea OG 790 the Zone was the shyt. That era of Steak, Nick, Chris, Bo Bach, Chuck Oliver and Mike Bell, Stews at their height was some of the best radio (not just sports talk) Atlanta ever had. Plus you had Matt Chernoff as a producer, Elle Duncan as an intern at one point, David Pollock got his start there...just a very talented roster when they were at their peak

As for now 680 has just everybody who used to be at 790 except Mike Bell. Me personally I don’t rock with 92.9 too tough, the shows on there collectively aren’t produced well and don’t have really compelling sports talk discussions.

Hugh and Fricke...SMH. Hugh doesn’t know sports outside of the NFL. He’s in the south but doesn’t know college football like that. His NBA & MLB is improving but you can tell he doesn’t really follow it like that. Fricke sounds like he’s still stuck in 1987

Andy and Randy have yet to say one interesting thing or give a new opinion

Dukes and Bell are past their prime. Their opinions are lazy and recycled, I can’t listen to them more than 5 minutes at most

The sad thing is Andy and Randy is probably the best show on that station right now...they’d probably be 4th/5th on the 680/Sports X stations

Do you listen to Hometeam and Hamilton? They’re clearly #1 for our demo and probably have the best overall infotainment level show in the city (although Chuck and Chernoff’s frat boy foolery with Hoyt, Los is great radio)

IDK the ratings, 680 doesn’t always release their ratings the same way 92.9 does but I dont listen because of ratings. Andy & Randy aren’t entertaining or even that informative to me but to each their own

Hugh’s a good guy...I think he genuinely doesn’t know wtf he’s talkin about 75-80% of the time and just wings it on some I’m low key crazy and a former athlete shyt. Fricke as a long time radio host/announcer gets along with him well, defers to him in most debates, does his homework to mask what Hugh doesn’t know, etc. Fricke literally does everything you’re supposed to do as a host and Hugh still manages to fukk shyt up lol. Hugh will at times try to understand other sports but in general he’s on some with most topics, throw a generic football/sports cliche on it and keep it moving. But overall he’s very limited knowledge wise...he’d be ok even with all that being said if he was just decent knowledge wise with college football. And what I mean is knowing the history of Power 5 college football, knowing more about the SEC & ACC, knowing something about recruiting. If he was at least decent in college football talk most people wouldn’t care about his lack of NBA/MLB knowledge but you can tell that he doesn’t prepare like he needs to show to show. Makes Fricke look bad by comparison (who has had plenty of moments as village idiot/homer too BTW)

I will say this: Fricke and Hugh are better than the other morning hosts they’ve had, including Ledlow, Randy Cross and that other white guy. There light years better than that. But compare them to the Front Row on 680 at the same time and it’s not even close
