I worked at "Dave FM" which became 92.9 the Game. We shared studios with 103.3 and some other stations.

92.9 messes with their lineup too much. I respect Rick and Terry but they love tinkering with shyt. The best lineup is when they had Jason Goff, Jamie Dukes, etc etc. But they have to keep a certain amount of bland white guys around to compete with 680 so i get it. They just need to settle on a lineup and stick wit it. Them 680 dudes been there for years and they already had a built in audience because they are all 790 refugees. Even Sandra came from over there.

In AM radio you have to “sell spots” it’s mostly smaller businesses like carpet companies and, HVAC, pest control. The small pool of companies that don’t advertise on top 40 radio (spots sometimes are 5-10k a spot) look towards am radio/sports because they are cheaper. Even when 92.9 has higher ratings they always lag behind in sales. Most of these smaller companies want their spots to run on 680 to appeal to a target demo

92.9 has turned over their sales department many times because they have too many black folks on air and can’t sell spots. A dead give away is all of the Ad council commercials. Those are empty slots that the govt pays for pennies on the dollar when radio can’t find paying ads. The stews are too black to sell spots for. Pure and simple. And this was told to me by folks that know

I'm still amazed at how anyone listens to Dukes and Bell for parts of 5 hours. No stats, opinions based on opinions, Mike Bell's voice is damn near shot (I feel bad for him b/c he had surgery to fix his vocal cords almost 2 years ago but you can hear his voice starting to deteriorate again) and he's been telling the same jokes for 20 years. Dukes has the most boring uninformed generic opinions on Atlanta radio. How do some of y'all listen to them?

Fricke is annoying as shyt but at least he has strong opinions. Him and Hugh is garbage tier morning radio but they're almost better than Dukes and Bell now
