Atlanta native and former V-103 host Elle Duncan has been named a new “SportsCenter” anchor on ESPN starting May 9.
This is a huge deal for Duncan, who has spent the past two years as anchor, host and reporter for the New England Sports Network in Boston. NESN is a regional sports network and primary broadcaster for the Red Sox and Bruins coverage.
In a text today, Duncan said she’s “blessed. Anxious. Excited!” She will be working at ESPN headquarters in Bristol, CT. She isn’t sure what shifts she’ll be taking but is “just happy for the opportunity to learn.”
“It’s wonderful and well deserved,” said Rashan Ali, who worked with her as a Hawks sideline reporter and with V-103 for a year. “She put in the work and this opportunity is a testament of her many years and commitment to her craft.”
Duncan, at age 20 in 2003, started working with the 2 Live Stews before moving to V-103 and Ryan Cameron‘s show a year later. At V-103, she also worked as mid-day host and as part of Frank Ski and Wanda Smith’s morning show.
She then spent a year doing traffic for 11 Alive.
Over the years, Duncan worked as a Hawks sideline reporter, contributed to the Atlanta Falcons radio network pre- and postgame shows and did reporting for for SEC and ACC football games on Comcast Sports South.
She left for New England in late 2013.
“God remains amazing,” texted Cameron. “She’s done a great job and I’m beyond happy and excited for her.”

I looked it up. Doug has an internet show. Doug Stewart Show

Stewart Media & Entertainment

It's also on itunes as a podcast. Good for him. fukk terrestrial radio. Podcast is the wave.

Yea i knew about the show, he has been doing it for years, me and the Stews talk periodically. Trust me tho, that podcast was born out of the fact that no one would give them a fair shake. Its a shame that Rick Caffey or Terry Foxx wont even give them brothas a weekend fill in slot. The 3 cacs that helped to shut down 790 all got jobs within 6 months of their no compete clauses. White folks take care of their own....wish we would.

That's fukked up. Seems like they were blackballed for some reason... pun intended. The question is what did they do? Their ratings were better than most.

Is it because they presented a black perspective? Business wise, the blackballing of The 2 Live Stews doesn't make sense.

Anyways, I hope his podcast continues to well. I'll be supporting it now that I know it's up.

Well 680 the Klan was never gonna hire them, they only employ white on air talent.

And about a year or so ago 92.9 had a mandate to come down to focus more on college football and baseball. They have a big signal and want to appeal to the backwater hicks near Tenn and Alabama. The primary demo for sportstalk is middle aged cacs. If you noticed, when 92.9 came on they focused alot on whatever national sports stories were going on, and they had really good basketball content. Now you have UGA segments every show, John Rocker has his own segment, they moved most of their live remotes to North Atlanta....

In short, the Stews have been offered some stuff out of state, but i dont think they wanna uproot their families. I think Ryan is doing a hodge podge of things like promotions and school stuff..

92.9 def has the most ATL itp presence tho

Theyve got Hawks and Falcons rights. Will have Atlanta United too. I do wish they'd quit their live remotes way up 400 and 85. And WTF is John Rocker doing on there? In fact, quit talking about the Braves. They've left Atlanta for all I care.

I thought they should have hired both Stews to work the morning show.

Mitch Evans left 92.9 he was on late night, he had different stints on 790 as a host and update guy, and was an update guy for 680 for a while. but as a host by himself, he was boring, I will miss Mike Bell saying "The Mitch"
