soccer players are better adjusted socially, IMO :sas2:

Tony Adams, George Best, Adam Johnson, Paul Gascoigne, Joey Barton, Graham Rix, Nile Ranger, Marlon King, Marcus Bent, Eric Cantona and the Brazilian goalkeeper who murdered his wife and fed her body to his dogs all say thanks.

:skip:

yeah but I don't see the average American parent letting their child go overseas by themselves. Pulisic is a outlier bruh.

Nah bruh.

Academies across Europe have American born players plying their trade.

TYRONE GA!
Soccer will never be mainstream in America like the NFL or NBA. And this is coming from a big futebol fan. In order to compete with Europe and South America they would have to change the entire system here because it does not work. It’s dope there is a soccer culture in the ATL. And the US has improved however they are like 25 years behind Europe and 20 years behind South America.

Never say never. There was a time when MLB was thought to be untouchable. NBA was shown on tape delay. Pro Football was an afterthought.

ALWAYS pay attention to trends and take your feelings out of it. That's how so many get left behind and fukked; being resistant to change or treating it niche.

... in the next 15-20 years I can see soccer eclipsing one of the top 3 sports in the US ...it aleady had a higher average attendance than the NBA last season. :usure:

Soccer is the future.
honestly, from a fan perspective, going to the game actually trumps watching the game unlike Baseball or American Football... :francis:

Also, the games are shorter and more direct with the rules...its a spectator sport, for real

Nah nikka. A black man can pick up any sport and go. I did ice hockey, roller hockey, lacrosse, soccer and was good at it.

Only reason nikkas don't play high school soccer is because it's during track season. Which is after basketball season. And if they're lazy or slow they'll play baseball. Or camp up somewhere and play basketball through spring and summer.

Depends on if they're a 12 sport athlete or not.
Right.

Only dudes I knew who played soccer were ones who weren't in basketball or who played football in the fall.

And track sucks up a lot of people.

the sheer spike in MLS should send the NFL serious messages....watch when these network renegotiations are up...MLS is about to crush these expanded markets

Again what does this have to do with Americans going overseas to play soccer?
Americans who are athletic are more likely to take up soccer as a secondary sport, not their primary endeavor

For example, Usain Bolt tried out for Dortmund...after his track career...

In the USA, most athletes are not seeing viable careers, or haven't recently, in soccer. They focused on Football, Baseball, Basketball...or the olympics in track

Kobe isn't nice with the soccer ball for no reason :francis:

Americans have more options for pro sports careers

Thus, the raw talent gets sucked up into other sports.

In other countries, outside of soccer, theres no competition with where to invest your athletic energy. And if you wanna play baseball or basketball, you just come to the states anyways.

TL;DR: American athletes get siphoned off of soccer into larger sport industries

What does the NCAA have to do with soccer development?

I swear soccer snobs are the biggest idiots.

Tennis, Swimming, and Gymnastics all bypass the NCAA.

DeMarcus Beasley, Landon Donovan, Clint Dempsey and Christian Pulisic didn't have to play college soccer.

Soccer snobs are the worst out of all sports snobs. :hhh:
