Can't believe nobody has mentioned the GOAT fall off Chris Davis: :mjlol:

This video pretty much sums it up:

Got paid and had the worst hitting season ever...
Had a 54 at bat hitless streak...

His deferred payments:

Retired in 2021 after becoming the worst hitter in baseball and getting multimillion dollar checks until 2032, where the last 5 years he only gets a little over a million:mjlol:.

Amazingly enough he was on the Rangers early 2010s team before this and Josh Hamilton also got that big deal, went to Anaheim and didn't do anything. Ended up coming back to Texas for 1 year and was out of the league still getting paid 26 million by Anaheim the next couple season.

What a win. :wow:

Baseball is the reaper of this thread.

Anthony Rendon. Comes to mind instantly

Stephen Strasburg won WS mvp and cashed out. Joe Flacco must’ve been his mentor . He resigned for 7 years 245 on December 2019. Since then he’s started 8 games.
That’s different. Strasburg basically sacrificed his arm for that WS. At one point, he reportedly couldn‘t even use his arm to open doors, or even pick up his kids. I‘ll always appreciate that man for giving me some of the greatest sports experiences of my life. :to:

Rendon, on the other hand…whew the Nats dodged a bullet. :hubie:
