Hear me out but...did Beal really "get lazy/fall off" though? He was never an elite player to begin with. He was always overrated and was overpaid by a trash organization, but did he actually get worse after signing? For me he was never that guy, neither before nor after getting the bag.

Can't believe nobody has mentioned the GOAT fall off Chris Davis: :mjlol:

This video pretty much sums it up:

Got paid and had the worst hitting season ever...
Had a 54 at bat hitless streak...

His deferred payments:

Retired in 2021 after becoming the worst hitter in baseball and getting multimillion dollar checks until 2032, where the last 5 years he only gets a little over a million:mjlol:.

Jim McIlvaine :troll:

Dude ALMOST had more fouls than points scored in every season he played. And still got a gigantic contract.

This plays a part bc he never deserved that heavy of a contract to begin with. GM was tripping giving a slightly above average player a contract meant for top 10-15 type of players

Beal was ascending every year. Especially from 17-21. Yes on a bad team, but averaging 30 per year for 4 years straight will get any player paid in this league. He got injured, but from both a stats and eye test perspective, he absolutely got worse immediately after signing.

Baseball is the reaper of this thread.

Anthony Rendon. Comes to mind instantly

Stephen Strasburg won WS mvp and cashed out. Joe Flacco must’ve been his mentor . He resigned for 7 years 245 on December 2019. Since then he’s started 8 games.

He wasn't a good player though. His contract caused the riff that lead to Kemp getting traded out of Seattle.

That's why I put yhe troll face.

And yep, he ruined what they had going there. They were trash ever since until they left Seattle :wow:
