i suggest combining community service with guest lectures in the humanities at your local university. i was an intern for the humanities department at ASU years ago, and i still am on their newsletter list which lets me know well in advance about who is lecturing and on what topic. these things are free and appear to be open to the public. i think you probably have access to something like that where you live too.

oh please believe i've smoked PLENTY weed... just quit about a month ago :sadcam: but fukk a damn drum circle

ya'll seriously don't get where i'm coming from though? i'm starting to think this is what religions have in common more than anything, not the belief in 'god(s)', but the attempt to feel more connected with one another and for some, the world at large. i can't find anything wrong with THAT... its when you start saying "this is what you're supposed to do, this is where you'll go if you don't, my faith calls on me to do ____" that it turns to bullshyt

Man just go back to church.

Why would "dogma" hurt you to the point where you don't want to be around other people?

i'm at one of these bytches right now. shyt is all cac everything but i ain't surprised. I was hoping for a bit more diversity though. they do seem to promote social justice which is cool, some lady from a domestic violence agency i'm familiar spoke for a minute. apparently I came during their "coming of age" day. basically telling these hs seniors I guess you're an adult/can be a member of our church... I wasn't feeling that, but they had to write their own personal "credos", what they themselves believe/question and the type of person they want to be. thats cool as hell :ohhh: I don't think I care to join but for someone with kids I think it'd be great
