I made the case for evolutionary advantage... for some reason you brought up the bible and bronze age.. Incest will be wrong forever and I laid out exactly why in the previous post. We are fully aware what atheist prof was stating.. he is incorrect based on what we know about how societal ideas are formed.

Well I disagree. I don't think there is ANYTHING that will be forever wrong and immoral. For example, even murder might no be immoral in the future.

Imagine if future technology makes it possible for people to back up their mind into computers so that the destruction of your mind doesn't cause permanent death (also known as brain uploading). Sure its a controversial area and many argue its impossible. But just play along. If we discover brain uploading is possible and if we can prove that you stay the same person throughout and that the mind backed up in the computer isn't just a copy, then the concept of murder wouldn't be as immoral as we consider it today. In fact it might become as petty as someone stealing a bike or snatching a purse. Sure it'll be bad and a nuisance but we wouldn't call it immoral.

there are many societies where marrying 1st cousins was acceptable considering the genetic defects weren't that great


however almost every society has rejected incest because the genetic defects on the kids.....you haven't disproved that

If it's consensual and they use proper birth control then I don't see the problem. The only problem with incest is the birth defects.

I do think parent and child is wrong, though.
I do wonder how a father feels when his daughter grows up looking like her mother but with a better body. Seriously, I would like a real answer of that.

None of Josef Fritzl's children were deformed. Also, incest only has a higher chance of producing abnormalities. It isn't 100% assured that your kid's gonna come out lookin' like this.....

Also, with birth-control/sterilization available, there's no reason to prevent even closer-related people from fukking each other if that's what they wanna do. Who are you to tell adults who they can and can't sleep with?

In that situation.. the concept of murder would still be bad. It's just that in that situation killing someone isn't ending their life so it's not murder. Murder is only bad because you're ending someones and taking away their right to live.

Plus, ur correct nothing may be forever.... but just because things change that doesn't make it better. If we are advanced enough to not be able to kill.. then we are advanced enough to handle unlimited population growth, then we will no longer have a need for sympathy, or most of what defines humanity. We no longer will have a need for sex or close ties or family. Essentially we no longer will be human.. and technology can provide societal supplements.

I would find that just as gross as things are now - We are going away from traditional families and we are validating every abnormal behavior. We are also living longer... but not healthier. We are becoming more antisocial and more internet social. None of those things are good, imo

I also kinda feel the same way about fukking ur wife once u have kids and ur kids are calling her "mommy"......from my understanding during entire life family members were not supposed to fuk eachother (As a kid I didn't realize that mom/dad were not blood related) so It would be weird for me to continue fukking my wife once we become a "family"
