I was kid during the "curl" era, when my neighbors and cousins all had that activator and had to wear them shower caps to bed, LOL. Shyt used to look so greasy, I just wanted no part of it. I don't know exactly when it went out. When boxes and high top fades were comin in, the Full Forces, Troops and 3 Ts of the world were still rockin curls with their fades. Then it just naturally transitioned into more natural high tops and fades when the black conscious 90s showed up. I remember Coming to America making fun of it, and I was like damn, Gheri Curls done faded out................................but Cube and Eazy still got em. Clean brehs like Devante swing went straight to taco mean S-Curl and texturizers though
