When I was much younger going to church, it was never that wide spread.

Honestly the only folk that caught the Holy Ghost were the ones that weren’t suspicious so I never focused on that as being the reason religion was ridiculous.

I’m also not about to deny grandma catching the spirit and lying about it :hubie:

I don't know about them but I've fell asleep in church as a youngin a couple times and I swear to you guys, a spirit or something would slap me across the face and jolt me awake. It's a weird feeling, similar to a shock. This only happened in church and whenever I'm in doubt about spirits or whatever, I remember those times. It's the truth.

i NEVER bought in but my moms was a true believer. i joined her church to appease her and keep her company.

she got cancer when i was about 12-13 years old.

i had to sit in church almost every sunday and hear the "pastor" tell me to my face that god was healing my mother.
my moms was literally dying and she was still hell bent on attending church.

i can still hear that snake tell me and my mother that "god had a plan." and that my mom would be fine.

when she was basically a vegetable and couldnt go to church i never went back. when she died, some of the people from church went to the funeral. they all got the beanie sigel ice grill. fukk outta here.

this whole video illustrates the reason why i left the church when i was a child and only been a few times in my adult years, mainly because of funerals sadly.

and these black churches only preaching that whitewashed Christianity bullshyt anyways. telling black people to forgive their oppressors, when in reality you’re not supposed to forgive them when they do wrong to you.

these mothafukkas have no problem forgiving non blacks quicker than they would forgive their own brothers and sisters. and that’s why i stay far away from black people who preach that whitewashed bullshyt.

it’s funny how they only tell black people to love and forgive their oppressors. you never hear them preach that bullshyt to other races because they aren’t so forgiving, so why the fukk are we so forgiving to the same mothafukkas that’s unforgiving for the shyt they do to us?

Numbers 22 requires you to think in non-traditional ways

in fact the entire book of Numbers is like that and is a judgment on greater spiritual Israel when they "Numbered" the people IE gave them names

Shemot(Names) is the other name for Exodus in Hebrew
The Book of Exodus (from Ancient Greek: Ἔξοδος, romanized: Éxodos; Biblical Hebrew: שְׁמוֹת Šəmōṯ, 'Names'; Latin: Liber Exodus) is the second book of the Bible

Put it like this to understand the scene you have to understand three major plot devices
  • Balaam who the story is about (whos name means Swallower of the People)
  • Balak and the Elders of Moab who worshipped Chemosh (and sacrificed their children). These are the descendants of Lot (Veil) and can be thought of as stories that do not repeat or are not protected
  • The idea of entities other than God putting words in your mouth
Balak wants Balaam to curse Israel because he says who Balaam curses is cursed and who he blesses is blessed. Its a logical battle that is incredibly hard to understand, but the imagery of Balaam on the Donkey and Jesus on the Donkey are linked because of the nature of the donkey. Remember the anger of God was kindled when Balaam chose to follow the Elders of Moab and his angel went out to meet him in several places where Balaam was "passing"

Genesis 49:14-16

14 “Issachar is a rawboned[f] donkey
lying down among the sheep pens.[g]
15 When he sees how good is his resting place
and how pleasant is his land,

16 he will bend his shoulder to the burden
and submit to forced labor.

In the land of Canaan only the descendants of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob are "guaranteed"

this is in contrast to ideas like ancestor worship and bronze age polytheism. Balaam is regarded as a sorcerer who follows the people of Israel

Exodus 2:11-14

11 One day, after Moses had grown up, he went out to where his own people were and watched them at their hard labor. He saw an Egyptian beating a Hebrew, one of his own people.

12 Looking this way and that and seeing no one, he killed the Egyptian and hid him in the sand.

13 The next day he went out and saw two Hebrews fighting. He asked the one in the wrong, “Why are you hitting your fellow Hebrew?”

14 The man said, “Who made you ruler and judge over us? Are you thinking of killing me as you killed the Egyptian?” Then Moses was afraid and thought, “What I did must have become known.”
